Hi all
There's a squad outing this saturday 13/01/07.
Meet 7pm at Tampines Mrt Station.
10:33 PM
photos of Imperial War Museum here. i think some are really cool and you must see them. =]
Chunz and I spent 6 hours in the museum, skipped lunch cuz the sandwiches cost 3.5 pounds in the cafe, and took 152 photos! and we did not manage to cover all the things..
We weren't allowed to take photos of the Holocaust. The things they displayed inside...the interviews..reports..stats etc, were really traumatising... as one of the survivors put it: '... after what happened, there's forever an unease with mankind...'

a display of REAL warfighters from the world wars.

hmm.. news on Japanese Occupation of Singapore

Victoria Cross, to the men of extraordinary bravery

standing beside a replica of the Little Boy

British MARK 1.. first tank to appear on battlefield, during the trench fighting in WW1

German V II.. perhaps the ancestor of ballistic missiles

hugging a 80cm shell

15-inch naval gun on display outside the museum.. they were the actual ones.. not mould. =]

hello everyone, decided to say hi here after jinhui questioned why there's nth here.
anw, the weather is getting freezingly cold here. Will get colder still. Not sure if it'll snow this year.
Time-wise, it's 8 hours behind singapore time for winter, and 7 hours for summer.
err.. what else hahahaa..
err angmohs are ok, generally. and i realise i am getting stupid-er. lol. so need to do more reading-up than others.
My course, materials sci and eng, is ok. it's really a multi-disciplinary course. right now, i am learning materials physics and chemistry. etcetc. lots of lab reports to write.
I've joined Imperial Volunteer Centre, going to take a project soon. I'm also in UNICEF. They are organising a fundraising event this Dec. I'm part of the committee - sponsorship officer. May sound big, but nothing much i guess. haha duno. first time doing such a thing.
I'm in Singapore Society too - for their floorball activities. Arts Society -for their cheap tickets to musicals. Intended to join Gliding Club, but re-considering that, since it's so damn expensive.
Anw, jennifer coming over this Dec. ahaha hope to cya soon.
Lastly, I'm going to Paris and Rome this Dec. ^^
cheers, (this's their kou tou chan)

The full half-paged report can be found in both THE SUNDAY TIMES and ZAOBAO today. Jinfeng's photo is also published on both tabloid's cover page.
6:28 PM
Watch out for another Jinfeng article tomorrow on The Sunday Times..
3:53 PM
Jinfeng on all major newspapers today!Excerpt from Sunday Times:
"Among the five recipients of this year's Singapore Armed Forces Overseas Scholarship awards is officer cadet(OC) Ren Jinfeng, 21, who was born in Fujian, China, but has adopted Singapore as his home and the country that he serves.
OC Ren, who moved to Singapore in 1996, will start his four-year course on materials science at the Imperial College in the United Kingdom next month."
Many Congrats to jf on attaining this prestige. Hopefully this high-flier is the first of many more successful figures that is produced from our squad!!!
